FAQ
How long do they last?
It’s the first thing everyone asks!
The short answer is your lashes will look their best if you get a fill every 3 weeks.
Look, I get it, I’m a millennial, and I understand that time is valuable. I won’t ask you to commit to a lifelong or even a six month subscription. So here is the long answer: they last as long as you want them to - just come in for maintenance fills every 2-4 weeks, depending on what we end up determining works best for you, and this does vary greatly depending on factors like health, hormones, age, using lash growth products, etc.
Like all hair, lashes grow in cycles. If you never got a fill, you might have a couple of extensions hanging on in 6 weeks. They would probably all be gone in 2 months. As unique as we each are, we are going to have varying mileage, but between 6-8 weeks for a full shedding cycle is normal. In order to maintain a full, beautiful set of lashes, I recommend a regular fill between 2-3.5 weeks. This keeps them from growing out too long and breaking off your natural lashes, and it also ensures you don’t ever have to lie down as long as that full set again. An additional note: you should see the extensions coming off with your natural lashes (but only one!), as they should last the entire cycle of your lash. If they are falling off without a natural lash attached then we need to look into retention.
Will this ruin my lashes?
We’ve all heard the horror stories.
Your lash health is my first priority. I not only care about your lash health - I need you to maintain healthy lashes to ensure you are able to return for future appointments. So for selfish reasons, it is also about me - if lash extensions ruin your lashes, I am doing something wrong.
I am happy to educate you about the process if you are interested in knowing. Many things affect your lash health, including stress, your diet, your own physical health, hormones, allergies… I could go on! I will often recommend lash growth products or hair, skin & nail vitamins to clients who wish to maintain extensions long term or strengthen/build their own lashes.
Do people normally fall asleep?
Part of why I made this site (aside from my more professional friends’ constant pleas) is so that you can have that option. So, if you’d rather not talk, you can definitely take a nap. I want to make sure that you are as comfortable as possible, so just communicate with me about what you need or don’t need, and I’ll ensure that you have the best possible experience. Music, silence, water, hot tea, or wine. This is your time, and you I want you to enjoy it.
Cancellation Policy
Life happens, and while I understand that there are times when we can’t plan for the unexpected and occasional calendar mistakes occur, in order to respect the time that has been allocated for your appointment, if an appointment is cancelled within 24 hours or you no show, you may still be charged up to 100% of the price your appointment.
Ok, I just booked.
Great. This should cover everything.
Everything else/a bit about me.
I understand that you can get lashes just about anywhere now - there are magnetic lash strips, lash clusters that you can apply yourself, and a lash studio on every corner. I will ensure that you are comfortable and relaxed, and occasionally entertained, and ultimately, that you get the best result: retaining your natural lashes while still being able to afford all of life’s other little luxuries.
Educating clients is of the utmost importance to me-clearly, judging by the word count on this site, but I strive to do so in a safe and cozy environment while offering the necessary aftercare. I know that many people have anxiety about lashes, because I have both seen and heard the worst things you could imagine about them, and am aware that anyone from a 12 year old to a plumber could order the materials online to get started doing lashes and set up shop. I have watched people apply them on themselves on youtube. Fortunately for you, I have thousands of hours of experience making this not simply my hobby or even trade, but a skill and craft I have honed over the years.
I apprenticed nearly a decade ago under a master trainer and a pioneer in the industry, and have since gotten several other certifications as well as being currently TDLR certified and insured through ASCP.
I will do my best to work with you to get you scheduled, so after choosing your service, shoot me a text, call or email, or you may book online.
While I take most of my appointments at my North Austin location, I also see clients at Innate Beauty med spa in limited slots and am open to mobile appointments for full sets, groups, or corporate booking for an additional fee*. -Please contact first if you are interested in these options-
Like all good service providers, I welcome feedback, so if there is something you want to change about your design, you find a product you’d like to try or a service I should add, then let’s talk about it! There is almost always a lively conversation going on in and out of the treatment room. For all comments and questions, send a message.
Looking good is an essential part of feeling good. Lashes seem like such a small thing and they quite literally are - but being able to get up and just feel that much more polished and feminine even without any other makeup on is an amazing feeling. I can’t wait to hand you the mirror after your appointment and see what you think!
